RULES
The Mansurian International Competition: 2024-2025 composition will be launched on the 1st of October 2024 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The Mansurian International Competition: 2024-2025 Composition will be launched on the 1st of October, 2024 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The competition is open to academic composers of any nationality and age. Each composer should submit one vocal-instrumental piece or series featuring voice and one or two instruments. The submitted work must be original in every aspect: it must have been written within the period of last year, unpublished, never recorded and performed in public nor broadcast.
The pieces can feature the following voices and instruments:
- Voice: soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone, bass
- Instruments: flute (+piccolo and alto), clarinet, violin, viola, cello, piano
The composition must be based on Armenian medieval, classical or modern poetry. Combining different authors in one piece is allowed. Both original pieces and translated versions are acceptable (translated versions are available in internet.
The minimum duration of the composition is 6 minutes, and the maximum duration is 12 minutes.
The application deadline is the 1st of April, 2025.
The name of the composer must not appear anywhere on the score. Nor may the score contain any details that might lead to the identification of the composer. The scores will be presented to the jury anonymously, replacing the author's name with a six-digit code. No participation fee is required for the participants of RA citizenship.
A 20€ participation fee is set for foreign citizens. The payment should be done through the following link.
All the participants are required to fill in the Application form.
A fully completed and signed Application form should be submitted with the following documents:
- Photocopy of the passport (JPEG or PDF format)
- Biography in Armenian and English (Microsoft Word format, max 1000 characters)
- High-resolution colored photos (digital format, min 300 dpi)
- Digitized version of the score (PDF format)
- Participation fee payment order (for foreign citizens)

The organization committee of the competition has the right to reject the submitted application of the participant in case of non-compliance with the rules of the competition. In some cases, it also reserves the right to request additional information from the applicant.
Special note for the foreign participants: the organization committee of the competition will suggest free hotel accommodation and meals to the foreign finalists willing to participate in the Competition Gala-Concert taking place in Yerevan, Armenia.
1st Prize – Reward in AMD equivalent to 3,000 US dollars, Laureate diploma
2nd Prize - Reward in AMD equivalent to 2,000 US dollars, Laureate diploma
3rd Prize - Reward in AMD equivalent to 1,000 US dollars, Laureate diploma
The jury reserves the right not to award all three prizes if the desired level is not reached. The jury’s decisions are final and are not disputable.
Application - Applications open on the 1st of October, 2024, and close on the 1st of April, 2025.
Competition Round - The first round of the competition will take place on the 1st of May, 2025 in a closed discussion format. The names of 6 finalists will be published on the Competition's official website and social pages.
Final Round and Gala-Concert - All 6 compositions selected during the Competition Round will be presented during the Final round, which will take place in 13th of June, 2025. The finalists will have an opportunity to participate in the Gala-Concert, during which the Award Winners will be announced. Upon receiving an invitation to participate in the Gala-Concert, foreign participants should apply to the Armenian Embassy or Consulate in their countries for a visa.
